My Something Old: A Glimpse Into my Montana Wedding

Our first kiss as husband and wife. Fritz and Melissa 2013 Excited to finally unveil my wedding photos to my readers! I promised Style Me Pretty the first unveiling, so check it out over on their website.....but will be sharing more personal anecdotes around my vision and planning here over the next several weeks.

Today I wanted to share the story on my "something old".

With exception to the gorgeous bracelet below (my mother in law's and my "something borrowed") the jewelry and accessories I wore on my wedding day were pieces from my grandmothers vintage collection she had gifted me. My most prized possession is the 1920's brooch you see below. It was my Great Grandmother Emma's, and my Grandmother had given it to me years before I had met my husband - and little did she know (and you can see the joy on her face when she first sees me in my dress and the brooch) I had big plans for it and it would make an appearance on my wedding day. I had planned to affix it somewhere on my dress, but being a minimalist and having a hard time wearing any jewelry at that! The broochΒ landed in my hair last minute.I wanted to move it into my hair. Thank goodness as it kept my veil on my head as gusts of wind blew through the ceremony site and my floor length Juliet Cap almost flew away.

The brooch was the centerpiece and inspiration behind my bridal look andΒ wasΒ the perfect last minute touch to my Deco inspired wedding look.
